My Clinical Experience
I have worked at several 4-year college counseling centers, a community college, and a community clinic and have professionally treated young adults/adults commonly on various types of anxiety (general, test, social), depression, various types of trauma (intergenerational trauma, emotional/physical/sexual abuse, minority-based trauma), identity development, grief and loss, perfectionism, parental neglect/abuse, relationship concerns (family, peer, work, romantic), suicidality and more for the past 14 years (8 years post-doctoral). I have worked with individuals from various backgrounds such as engineering, science, technology, art/animation, english/creative writing, psychology/social work/occupational therapy, medicine/nursing and more. I have also been fortunate to work with individuals with diverse identities and backgrounds such as their gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, race, ethnicity, national origin, ability status, socioeconomic status, age, immigration generation status and more.

While I have worked with diverse populations, I also have a few specialty areas and areas of interest. First, I specialize in better understanding the experiences of recent 1st generation immigrants, 1.5 and 2nd generation BIPOC individuals, specifically but not limited to Asian American individuals, and individuals who have had multiple moves and transitions (whether within the U.S., or across countries) and helping them learn ways to manage the unique challenges they undergo. I have worked with young adults, adults, and older adults in the above populations and specific struggles they go through such as identity development, cultural adjustment, intergenerational cultural conflict among families, grief and loss of culture, home and identities, intergenerational trauma, discrimination and more. Additionally, based on my own graduate and work experiences, I have a focus in career development, burn out management, and work-life balance for college and graduate students in academia as well as professionals such as those in the biotechnology field in Silicon Valley, helping fields (health care providers, therapists) and educational fields (teachers) strive towards their own wellness and success while balancing their work and personal lives. Lastly, I also identify as an LGBTQ-affirming clinician who works with LGBTQ+ identified individuals on their intersections with their religious identity (or their family's religious identity) and work to provide a supportive space to manage unique challenges that come with these identities and experiences.

Language: I am also fluent in English and Korean and have conducted therapy in both languages.
